i had a set of old ceramic decorative frames that i had purchased at a garage sale last summer. as i was searching for something to create...i ended up running across these...and they worked out just PERFECTLY! i am actually going to HANG them...but for now, here are my pics...

i thought the set would make a great gift for someone special,

so i created a little card to go with them. the card measures 3 x 3.

i am sure that most of you know from my post below that friday was my last day working at Unity. well...today is my last day posting with the AWESOME {ippity} design team...

i am going to miss every single one of these girls...

they are all such wonderful women with some of the BIGGEST hearts i have ever come across! there is positive energy behind everything they do...

they support each other - help each other - work together as a TEAM like no other!

Angie, Eva, Maria, Kelly, Lisa H, Lisa A, Stephanie, and Karen...

I LOVE YOU ALL sooo much!!

i am so thankful to have had the opportunity to work with all of...

it has been an honor and i will always have a part of all of you in my heart! you have been some of my biggest supporters and for that...i am TRULY THANKFUL!

i also want to THANK all of the unity & {ippity} customers/supporters...

YOU are all the BEST!THANK YOU THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for all of your support and encouragement {and for reading my blog!!} :)

that today is my last day at Unity. i have received an amazing opportunity to open up my very own boutique...something i have wanted to do since i was a little girl...

i stumbled upon a wonderful site...pugly pixel. kartina, the owner of the site, shares her love for photography and digital art. she is even gracious enough to share many fabulous FREEbies...you can also join her site and get "premium" access to her digital resources for just 5 bucks a month! yeah...that's IT, 5 dollars! it's pretty unbelievable if you ask me...cause these images are F.U.N to play with! :)

i don't know about you but i am EXCITED to start a NEW YEAR! i have a really WONDERFUL feeling that 2011 is going to be AWESOME! YAY!!

so...along with the NEW YEAR, we have decided to make some fabulous changes inside unity & {ippity}...and FIRST things first -- this will be the {ippity} design teams LAST HIP HOP with the unity design team! but NO FRETTING, cause we've got some REALLY FUN things planned on the {ippity} side of things....STAY TUNED for that! :)

mini journals...

i've been busy crafting and creating in an effort to try to give HANDMADE gifts this year. i've still got TONS of work to do...so good thing i LOVE it, huh! :)

here are a few journals that i created...

using my unity stamps.

the journals each measure approximately 4 x 4...so i should actually call it a MINI journal! {the cover & back page are from 7 gypsies the ringed board book - which includes 10 boards that i just am going to take a part and use to create 5 mini journals. i did have to purchse additional rings since the book actually only came with 3. i then cut down extra paper that i had at home to fit inside. }

my project for the week...
i decided to continue on with creating more finishing touches to my Christmas GIFTS...CREATIVE gifting is what i like to call it. so for today i created some HANDMADE RIBBON. and this is one VERY VERY SIMPLE PROJECT...here's how it turned out.

i created this handmade fabric ribbon by simply taking a long skinny piece of cream colored fabric and stamping DOTS FOR SURE both on the front and back of it repeatedly with STAZON {in cherry red!}

handmade christmas gift wrap...

hello! hello! and HAPPY hip hop thursday!

i REALLY hope you have had a FANTASTIC week - isn't this time of year just CRAZY busy!?!? i've had lots of fun crafting and coming up with handmade gifts for everyone this year {however, i think my niece & 2 nephews will be getting a little of both!} so in preparing for the holidays i decided to create some HANDMADE GARLAND and use it as an embellishment for my GIFT WRAPPING! so i decided to show you some EASY PEASY gift wrapping using your {ippity} by unity stamps!

BUT first...DID YOU START at the UNITY BLOG???? be sure to head back that way if you didn't...we have TONS {as in THIRTEEN} NEW releases today and they are absolutely GORGEOUS....AND as a release week special we are offering them all for just $19.99!!

to create my gift wrap i used kraft paper that i had purchased at the dollar store {i LOVE a good deal!} BUT you could also always use your unity/ippity kraft packaging paper that we wrap all of our product in! i stamped the music notes from music of my heart randomly {think of ALL the cute ippity stamps you could use for this!!}...i actually wrapped the gift and then used my tim holtz distress ink to give it more of a vintage feel. EASY, huh!

then i created this tag using the ticket from here and now. i actually used one of my american crafts stamp markers so that i could just ink up the parts that i wanted to stamp {i omitted a few words and the 5} and then put my CHRISTMAS SPIN on this ticket to create the PERFECT GIFT TAG.

i had a BLAST making this garland and already have started some more strings of it. i will share once i find the time to snap a photo or two! :)

LOOK i used that music background on my garland TOO! i just can't seem to get enough of that stamp!

also...DID YOU KNOW? that you can just sew NOTHING and it creates this awesome twine look...YEP, you can.

i created this garland by first cutting all of my felt circles using my cuddle bug so that they are perfect circles. i then created my smaller circles by stamping the music note background, distressing the paper, and then punching small circles. THEN i went to my sewing machine and started sewing...you sew through the circle...and then just KEEP ON GOING to get this twine look - every so often i stuck another felt of paper circle in there to get the garland look - no rhyme or reason just whenever i felt like it needed one.

you should give it a try...i think you'll have FUN with it...

december daily 2010 {days 1-3}

we had a birthday celebration for my older brother...it was a WONDERFUL day with tons of LAUGHS!

definitely NEVER a dull moment with these kids {i have 2 nephew's and 1 niece}...love them soooo much!

working on getting my projects done AHEAD of time. i try to work ahead and then typically CHANGE what i have already worked on, but NOT ANYMORE! last week i had waited til the last minute to do my projects & blog posts and i was NOT happy with how they turned out...so my NEW GOAL is to GET AHEAD of the game! HOORAY...it's a great feeling...really it is!!

i used the the martha stewart glue pad to ink up the snowflake stamp and then added RED GLITTER to it.

i also used a different background stamp for each one...

i am going to get straight to my project today...

i decided to create a "surrender" box...

you write down your worries & desires and place them in the box for the universe to take care of {inspired by my dear friend eva!} COOL, huh!

the new {ippity} kit here and now & the single gurnsey gingham were both PERFECT...

along with crate paper's restoration collection. the background covering this tin is actually created from an old paper bag and then i stamped gurnsey gingham repeatedly all over it.

this is the top of the box...

i also used stamp images from the new sets sing a new song & cherish your dreams

i made the cards to fill out to put INSIDE the box as well. this journal box from the kit "here and now" is simply perfect! ...then i added the quotes from the new kit "sing a new song" since they were more fitting for this project.

these stamp sets are all so versatile...you can use your imagination and they'll fit perfectly for SO MANY PROJECTS. i couldn't believe how EASILY this all came together for me...

dec. daily {2010}...

welcome to this week's unity/{ippity} dt HIP HOP blog hop!

we have a very FUN theme for you this week. have you heard of the dec. daily inspired by ali edwards? it's quite simple, you create a memory book for the first 25 days in december...and journal each and everyday. you create the bones of all the pages BEFORE the month of dec. starts because we all know that dec. is always a crazy busy month...so then you just have to add a photo or some memories of the day...even receipts from a shopping day {anything as a little reminder of your day}. what a wonderful way to remember all those little moments that seem to just quickly pass by us.....

i have created my cover....still need to create the inside pages which i will do within the next couple of days {hopefully!} ;)

it's a pretty simple design but in real life it is super SPARKLY and lovely.

i actually just tore up an old cardboard box...and used that for the cover and then added 5 pages. the other pages will consist of photos, envelopes, decorative card stock, etc...

ahhhh....GLITTER...i LOVE glitter...

have i mentioned that before? ;)

fun with flowers {a tutorial}....

i had lots of requests on HOW i made the felt flowers i posted on sunday. i went back searching for the blog that i had first seen them on and for the life of me cannot find it. they are SUPER SIMPLE, so instead of wasting hours trying to find that exact tutorial, i thought i would just share how EASY they are...

but FIRST i wanted to show you how cute they look on my messanger bag....just three of them placed in the corner and wah-lah...instant transformation!

all you need is

felt or wool,

a scissors,

glue gun,

& a pin for the back

this piece of wool is approximately a 1 inch wide & 35 inches long...

obviously you can make them BIGGER & smaller and just adjust the width & length accordingly.

cut notches at your desired width.

for some of them i have started out with smaller, thinner cuts in the beginning and then wider as i got to the end.

start rolling and gluing...EASY PEASY!

here is what it will look like....

add a piece to cover the bottom & glue on a pin...

wah...LAH!!

how EASY & FUN is THAT!

i have also tried some other fabric flowers... i added some of them to a altered clipboard.

so....are ya gonna give it a try?

i hope so...i am actually going to use them on my christmas gifts as well...

instead of a big bow on the package, i am going to include one of these flower pins.

i am off to make MORE...it's a BIG WEEKEND at the local boutique that i am selling stuff in, and i want to have lots of these available. so...TA.TA. for now! =)

our monday {ippity} challenge this week is to use NUMBERS or incorporate a clock into your project... i actually started the 21 day challenge by rhonna ferrer on friday...with her challenge you take ONE habit you want to break OR START and then art journal about it each & every day. my journal page for sunday is more of a scrappy page...and of course i threw in some {ippity}. :) i am really enjoying the process of this challenge...after this first 21 days, i will be starting another one! if you have a moment, i encourage you to check out her site & give the challenge a try....just 21 days, that's IT! :)

we actually got to see a demo of this amazing ecraft machine at CHA. it cuts through FABRIC, wood veneer, paper, and SO MUCH MORE.. i think that one of these would make my life a whole lot EASIER {which means it can be put in the "necessity" department, right!?}

Suede, one of the past PROJECT RUNWAY WINNERS, was at CHA showcasing some dresses that he created with this machine....here is Michelle & i with him...

and i OF COURSE feel in love with this gray & yellow dress he created....i would totally ROCK this dress!!

this is really fun putting together a list of items i am wanting at the moment...

it's like my virtual vision board!

LOVE white! & LOVE this jacket from express! i like it because it's cute AND trendy...NOT big & BULKY {this would have to be my going out, need to look cute jacket...cause winter's in mn, DO require a big & bulky one!!}
2.....
i adore this bag...guess what?! it is a CAMERA bag...check out a bushel & a peck for tons more lovely vintage & vintage inspired finds!

i have always loved the prints by made by girl & her inspiring blog!
this color print. the word LOVE. it's simply PERFECT for me!!
i think i'll be getting this sooner than later...i have the perfect spot for it in my craft area!

i want a really GREAT camera...i have always loved photography...i would LOVE to get a really great digital slr camera and take a photography class...ohh YES, this is definitely on my list of things to do! i haven't researched exactly what i all need to look for in a camera, so if you have any tips...i would love to hear them!

FABRIC from Heather Bailey! i am a HUGE fan of heather bailey fabric....it's so my style.BRIGHT. HAPPY. CHEERY! not even sure what i would make with it...but i just know i have got to GET some of it!

a fun little update...

so about a month ago i started selling my handmade designs in a local boutique {illusions boutique & tanning}...

i am so VERY VERY happy to tell you that it has been a HUGE success for me!

the BEST part is that i ENJOY

every minute of it...

the creating,

figuring out the best way to display everything,

and of course,

all of the enthusiasm & support

that i have received from my family & friends!
